Full Arch Implants in Goose Creek, SC
Solution for Replacing Damaged or Missing Teeth
Full arch dental implants replace a full row of missing upper or lower teeth without having individual implants placed in the jawbone to support a crown for every tooth. Individual implants for an entire row of teeth are incredibly expensive due to the number of implants needed (usually 20-24 for the upper or lower jaw). The surgery required is also more extensive and more likely to cause complications. For these reasons, full-arch dental implants are the best choice for most patients.
What are Full Arch Dental Implants?
Full-arch dental implants restore a full row of teeth in the upper or lower jaw by supporting a dental prosthetic on a limited number of implants. The prosthetic teeth are an arch of connected teeth resembling a denture. However, the prosthetic is lighter and thinner and does not cover the roof of the mouth. It attaches permanently to between four and six strategically placed upper or lower jawbone implants. The result is a complete restoration that is functional, comfortable, and attractive for anyone missing all upper or lower teeth.
Because fewer implants are used, fewer surgeries are needed, reducing the cost and risks of the procedure for our patients. Redbank Family Dentistry exclusively uses the NeoDent® Grand Morse® implant system. After researching multiple full mouth implant systems, including the All-On-4 system by Nobel, we determined that the NeoDent® is the most advanced and versatile option for our patients.

NeoDent® Grand Morse® Implant System vs. All-On-4®
Although the NeoDent system and All-On-4 implants both utilize a limited number of specially designed titanium implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth, there are distinct differences. With NeoDent Grand Morse, various implant diameters are available for placement using the same surgical technique and tools, simplifying the surgical process.
This system also uses a single-size connector, or abutment, to connect restorations to the implants, reducing the need for our practice to keep different sizes of connectors in stock. We pass those savings on to our patients.
With All-On-4, we discovered that greater bone density was required for stable placement of the implants, leading to more patient bone grafting. Unfortunately, bone grafting adds several months of healing time to the timeline for full-mouth dental implants. Our full-mouth dental implants using NeoDent® dental implants are less likely to require bone grafts and are more secure in the jawbone due to the unique design of the screws. We are confident that our patients benefit greatly from the NeoDent® Grand Morse® implant system. They will recover quickly from their procedure, returning to oral health with a full set of functional teeth.
Full Arch Implants Procedure
The full arch dental implant procedure starts with a free consultation with Dr. Gauthier. He performs a thorough oral exam, takes digital images or X-rays, and reviews your options with you. After determining whether you are a candidate for full arch implants, he reviews anesthesia options and your treatment plan with you. Any questions you have are answered before surgery.
Implant placement is a painless procedure performed in our office’s surgical suite. The area is numbed using a local anesthetic. We may also provide some form of sedation to relax you or put you to sleep during the surgery. Implant placement typically takes 1-3 hours. A temporary dental prosthetic is placed over the jawbone ridge to protect the surgical sites and give you a complete smile. At the same time, your permanent arch of replacement teeth is crafted.
After the implants are strategically placed in the jawbone to take advantage of the strongest areas, they will need time for the surrounding bone to fuse with them. This may take 2-6 months. Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, an abutment is attached to the top, and the restoration is connected to it.
